Born in the South-West of France, Guillaume Berceau very early started the saxophone in his home town music school before continuing his studies at the Conservatories of Bordeaux, Bayonne and Toulouse where he graduated . He participated in numerous masterclasses with the most famous names of the world of saxophone as well as music (Rostropovich, Vengerov, Lockwood, Zygel and Stockhausen).
In 2015, he obtained his Master’s degree with highest honors with the congratulations of the jury at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris in the class of Claude Delangle, and also the State Diploma of Teaching at CEFEDEM in paris region. He also distinguished himself at the UFAM and Gap competitions by being awarded the 1st prize of honor of the Bellan competition and the 4th prize of the prestigious international competition Adolphe Sax of Dinant (Belium) in 2014. Guillaume teaches saxophone and improvisation at summer academies, and also at the conservatories of Paris, Strasbourg and Rambouillet.
Still in search of educational and artistic renewal, Guillaume is always looking for sharing original repertoire by creating a musical theater show entitled “Le Restaurant”, but also by participating in projects with dance, movies-concerts, as well as original compositions with contemporary composers of IRCAM and CNSMDP. He also performed as a soloist in prestigious venues such as the Philharmonie de Paris, the Théâtre du Châtelet and the International Saxophone Congress. Guillaume is a founding member of the Zahir Quartet, which won the 9th International Chamber Music Competition in Osaka (Japan), gaining international recognition.
